Tannia Rivera

Researcher, State Distance University Costa Rica (Costa Rica)

Master in Teaching, Bachelor in Art and Visual Communication from the National University of Costa Rica, with a Diploma in Computer Science from the State Distance University (UNED) of Costa Rica, where she currently works as a researcher.

Collaborator in the project Educate and Innovate – Shaping the University Future with Responsible Artificial Intelligence (ERASMUS).


Member of the interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence team at the State Distance University.
Director and Founder of Women in Big Data (WiBD) for the Costa Rica chapter, and Ambassador/Advisor of Women in Data Science (WiDS) Stanford. Her areas of expertise include Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Services.

In line with the objectives of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance and the the BELLA II project led by RedCLARA, TICAL provides a forum for strategic dialogue and exchange of experiences among the NRENs members of RedCLARA on strengthening regional science, technology, and innovation; promotes the identification of common challenges and opportunities of digital transformation for the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and seeks to identify the cornerstones for building a common development agenda based on digital.
