Head of Public Cloud at SURF, the National Research and Education Network (NREN) of the Netherlands since 2011, and since 2016 leading the public cloud services team.

He was a pioneer in the development and implementation of these services within SURF, which have now become the preferred option for Dutch research and education institutions.

He has participated in several GEANT projects and has been part of the core team of the OCRE pan-European cloud services procurement project since 2015, which is currently used by 1,100 institutions in 28 countries.
