Maite Erizábal

EU-LAC Fundraising, Networking & Projects Manager (España)

Master’s in Environment and Territorial Policies and Bachelor’s in International Relations, with postgraduate studies in Technology Management and Public Management. She is currently the Director of Fundraising, Networking, and EU-LAC Projects at LifeWatch ERIC, with extensive experience in international cooperation, science policy, and project management.

She also serves as a project management professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Republic, Uruguay. She has been responsible for Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 projects at the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation and the Ministry of Education and Culture and has worked as an operations analyst consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank in Chile and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.

Her areas of expertise include international cooperation, science, technology, and innovation policy, open science, project management, technology transfer, biodiversity and environment, Horizon Europe and international funding, public sector support, and business and investment relations.

In line with the objectives of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance and the the BELLA II project led by RedCLARA, TICAL provides a forum for strategic dialogue and exchange of experiences among the NRENs members of RedCLARA on strengthening regional science, technology, and innovation; promotes the identification of common challenges and opportunities of digital transformation for the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and seeks to identify the cornerstones for building a common development agenda based on digital.
