Agustín Gómez Meléndez
Director of the National Advanced Computing Collaboratory, CeNAT (Costa Rica)
Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science with an emphasis in Computer Science from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (Tecnológico de Costa Rica).
Currently, he serves as Director of the National Advanced Computing Collaboratory at the National Center for High Technology (CeNAT), and as a Full Professor and Senior Researcher at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology.
He has been a Research Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and has led the National Advanced Computing Collaboratory at CeNAT since 2016, where he also develops his research agenda in parallel computing and its intersections with deep learning and scientific computing.
His area of specialization is high-performance computing.
