PhD in Marine Biology, currently General Director of LifeWatch ERIC and National Delegate to the General Assembly, leading the European e-Science infrastructure for biodiversity and ecosystems. Former Director of Research at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture. Head of the Biodiversity Laboratory and coordinator of the LifeWatchGreece research infrastructure.

His contributions include the development of methodologies for biodiversity informatics and functional diversity. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and serves as an editor for several international journals. He actively promotes open science, digital innovation, and collaborative approaches in research infrastructures.

His areas of expertise include international cooperation, science, technology and innovation policy, open science, project management, technology transfer, biodiversity and environment, Horizon Europe and international funding, public sector support, and trade and investment relations.
